As Cost Engineer, reporting to the Financial Manager, your role will entail:
• ensure the provision of accurate and timeous standard costing updates
• execute / assist with the control of monthly costing processes
• help with the formalisation of the costing framework, which involves mapping and documentation costing methodologies, policies and procedures
• driving the OEE process as a support to Production
• apply technical knowledge of the company’s production process to develop and maintain an accurate costing model
• costing of parts for quotations
• support the Planning Department in the ERP process
• regularly review costing standards on major components
• enhance the costing process and systematisation of recurring tasks
• assist the Financial Manager in budget preparation, miscellaneous reports and projects
• timeous and accurate cost breakdowns by Department
• identify abnormally high expenditure and bring to the attention of management

• A completed engineering qualification (industrial, mechanical or electrical)
• a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a cost engineer in a manufacturing environment

• strong Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel) skills are essential
• must be able to display a competency using SAP systems
• good decision-making and organisational skills
• ability to work under pressure
• own transportation

• great people skills and a willingness to learn
